Karumadikuttan is a statue built in black granite, which is believed to be that of Lord
Gautham Buddha in a sitting position and dates back to the period
between 9th to 14th centuries. It is located on the banks of the
Punnamada Lake in Alleppey District. It is believed to be old as far as 9th to 14th century. This impressive
Buddhist statue represents the only Buddhist temple in Kerala.
